The ancient city of Oktapolis is located in a large area within the borders of three different villages in Dalaman, one of the 13 districts of Muğla. You can use Kayadibi village minibuses departing from the district center to this settlement area, which is in the minds of visitors with its mysterious appearance. To reach it with your personal vehicle, you should follow the D-555 and D-400 highways respectively and proceed towards Kayadibi route.
The meaning of the ancient city of Oktapolis has been explained as meaning Eight Cities upon the reading and interpretation of the inscriptions in the settlement. In the northern part of Kayadibi village, there are inscriptions, city walls, cellars and dwellings within the walls. It was determined that these historical structures belong to the Lycian Period. There are also city ruins estimated to be from Roman and Byzantine times in Oktapolis.
You can visit this settlement at any time during the day. Since the cemeteries are built on steep cliffs, it is difficult to explore the ancient city and you need to be careful.
Oktapolis Ancient City does not have any entrance fee.
